One Year Later

I can't believe that an entire year has passed since Isaac came into our lives.  Isaac is such an amazing boy!  He can do just about anything he sets his sights on.  He is on the move and into everything.  He still loves remotes, iPhones, iPads, and all things electronic.  He also loves keys; he grabs Eric's keys and walks over to the front door to try to open it.  He tries to put the key (usually the car key) in the door. Although he doesn't quite have it, he certainly knows what is supposed to happen with the keys and the door.
He is beginning to talk; he says "Mama", "Dada", "Baba", and "Dare"; the last word means "there". We will ask him, "Isaac, where's your tummy?"  He will look down and point to his tummy and say, "Dare."  He also picks up his bears or his baby and points to their face and says, "Eye".  He will also point to our eyes and say the same thing; although he's a little forceful when he pokes!
Isaac also loves to hug!  He will hug me, Eric, his grandparents, his bears, and especially his cousin; although I think Isaac is really the only one who benefits from that last encounter, he tackles his poor cousin and holds on for dear life! He loves to spend time with Cam; they are best buddies.

Isaac also loves to hug Mickey.  Isaac figured out that if he offers Mickey a treat, a Cheerio or a meltaway, Mickey will sit still long enough for Isaac to grab him and hug him.  Needless to say, Mickey is NOT a fan!

Isaac also loves to dance!  Whenever the Spongebob, Thomas, or Chica theme songs or a catchy commercial comes on tv, he stops what he is doing, comes over to the tv and raises his hand in the air to dance along.  Eric says he looks like he is listening to worship music and praising God when he dances.  It is way too cute!
He is also a great eater!  There really isn't anything he doesn't like.  One of his favorite things to munch on is corn on the cob!

Isaac's First Birthday

Isaac had a great birthday!  We had lunch and cake; he had his own small cake to smash into and enjoy.  However, I'm not sure he got the message.  He was not interested at all in making a mess or smashing into his cake. He very carefully picked up small pieces of icing and ate them, at one point he was even using a fork to eat his birthday cake!  He is too funny!

We are looking forward to another amazing year with our sweet boy and the new baby girl due in August.  What a blessed life!
