Isaac the Climber is 9 Months
Isaac is our little climber! He can pull himself up on anything in no time, and everything is fair game.
The couch? I got that.
The coffee table? No sweat.
Mom and Dad? Is that even a challenge!?
Isaac will climb on anything and everything; although his philosophy seems to be that the best things to climb on are the things built to contain him.
He loves to be outside of his walker and stand up and play with it. Same goes for his bouncy chair. He would rather not be in it...at least not sitting in it. :)
Isaac also has another tooth popping up; one on the bottom right side. He is chomping away on everything; especially Mommy's hand. (And just in case you were wondering, those chompers are sharp!) On the positive side of that, he just loves to brush his teeth. I grab a toothbrush and wet it with water and dab at his little pearly whites...and he just loves it! He also loves to look at himself in the mirror too, so that probably adds to the whole brushing experience.
He is so very smart! You ask, "Where's Daddy?" or "Where's Mickey?" and he looks right at the person (or dog); and when playing peek-a-boo, he knows exactly where to look.
At this moment he is asleep in his crib...he's got the right idea. Did I mention he was smart?
He is 9 months old now and is determined to have whatever he has his eye on. Usually he zeros in on the television, iPad, or phone; generally anything that he is not supposed to have. Although I will say he is quite good at playing with his toys all by himself when the mood strikes. Isaac is great about sitting on the floor with his plastic blocks, banging them together or putting them in his mouth, pretty oblivious to everything else.
He has also started babbling a lot more; although he is not really saying words that can be deciphered. Mostly he grunts, making a sound that makes me think he has been watching reruns of Tool Time. He has actually said "mama" and "dada" but he hasn't said either word in a few months.
A favorite pastime right now is to wait until Solly and Mickey have been fed, we put their bowls on the couch to keep them out of Isaac's reach, and then crawl over to the couch and just watch them eat. He can't reach them, they are safe from his tiny hands, but he is fascinated. Solly and Mickey are basically living in the danger zone at all times; they are pretty much tired of Isaac's obsession of them. I hope that as he eventually learns how to pet them, they will be more tolerant of our boy.
Isaac has six teeth and a seventh is just popping through on the top. He is such a good eater and he loves his Meltaways; which are baby snacks that just melt in their mouth. When he eats the ones he has he will jab his right hand in the air and wave it back and forth until he gets more. We're pretty sure that motion just means "more" or "again" depending on the situation. He also loves music and singing. He is mesmerized by the Safe Auto commercial with the young lady rapping. He loves it! He also loves Thomas the Tank Engine. He will bang his hand on the table and bounce up and down to the music. I'm not sure where he gets that rhythm because it certainly wasn't handed down from either of us.
